Consultation with a Richmond Orthodontist

You’ll swing by Gardner & La Rochelle Orthodontics for your complimentary consultation. A team member will take digital photos and x-rays of your smile. Dr. Gardner, Dr. Tang or Dr. La Rochelle will then perform an exam and use their findings to develop a diagnosis. They’ll present you with a personalized treatment plan and answer any questions you have. A team member will go over all of the details, including the Invisalign cost, insurance and our flexible financing options.

Create a Digital, 3D Image of Your Mouth

A team member will take comfortable digital impressions using our iTero scanner. Once the impressions are input into our software, a 3D model of your mouth will be created. Your Richmond Invisalign provider will plan out your treatment directly on the model, moving each individual tooth into its ideal place for maximum precision. We can even show you a simulation of what your new smile will look like before you begin with our Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

Pick Up Your Custom Invisalign Aligners

Invisalign will print a series of custom, clear aligners made from medical-grade, BPA-free plastic according to your orthodontist’s prescription. You’ll pick them up and wear them for 20 to 22 hours per day, taking them out only to eat and drink, brush and floss your teeth, or to wear a mouthguard while playing sports.

Wear New Aligners According to Plan

Depending on your needs, you’ll swap out your aligners for a new tray every one to two weeks. As you make your way through the series, your new smile will gradually take shape. The aligners don’t require adjustments like braces do but you will still come in for a visit every eight to 10 weeks so we can check your progress. Our doctors take a unique collaborative approach, so all three of them will be reviewing your case throughout your treatment to help you get the best results.

Show Off Your New Smile

When you take out your last set of Invisalign aligners, you’ll have a beautiful smile and healthy bite to show for it. We’ll design a custom retainer for you. Wearing a retainer will ensure your results last a lifetime. Most patients only need to wear it at night.
