What to Expect at Your Consultation
Patients are often curious about what happens at their in-person orthodontic consultation. We’re here to assure you that your initial visit with us (and all of the visits thereafter) will be fun and exciting. After all, it’s the first step in getting a fantastic new smile!
This first visit with our orthodontist takes about an hour and it’s complimentary because we want you to have all of the information you need to feel confident about kicking off treatment. To get the ball rolling, you can save time by filling out our new patient forms at home and by bringing your dental insurance card with you to your visit. To get started, schedule your free consultation with a Richmond orthodontist online, by calling us at (804) 282-0505 or texting us at (804) 577-1171. Or, read on to find out what to expect.
Diagnostic Records and Exam
A team member will take digital photos and digital, 3D x-rays with our i-CAT™ imaging system. These x-rays emit the least amount of radiation possible but give us incredible visual detail. Dr. Gardner, Dr. Tang or Dr. La Rochelle will then perform an exam. They’ll use their findings to develop an accurate diagnosis.
Come On In
Our friendly team members will give you a warm welcome and you’ll feel at home as soon as you walk through our door. We’ll get you settled in and then give you a tour of our bright, modern office.
Chat With the Doctor
Your orthodontist will present you with your personalized treatment recommendations. If you have questions, ask away! We’ll take as much time as you need and explain your options in detail, as well as fill you in on how long your proposed treatment will take. A team member will also discuss the cost of braces or Invisalign, insurance and our flexible financing options. You’ll leave feeling educated and ready to jump right in!
Rather Go Virtual?
We also offer virtual consultations so you can begin the teeth-straightening process from anywhere. If you opt for a virtual smile assessment, you’ll send us some pictures of your smile, as well as your name and any concerns you have. One of our orthodontists will assess your smile and get back to you with personalized treatment recommendations and important details to help you decide if you want to move forward. When you’re ready, you’ll visit us in-person so we can take diagnostic records and start your treatment.
